Swiss Church Aid (HEKS/EPER) invites qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following vacant posts. HEKS/EPER is the aid organization of the Protestant Churches of Switzerland, headquartered in Zurich. It works towards a more humane and equitable world, engaging in development cooperation, humanitarian aid, and church cooperation in over 30 countries.

1. Position: Cashier / Accountant

  • Location: Awash Sebat Kilo Town, Afar Region
  • Number Required: 1
  • Duration: Fixed Term for 11 months
  • Salary: As per the scale of the organization and benefit package

Skill and Educational Background:

  • BA degree in Accounting and Finance
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in a similar field
  • Proven experience in finance
  • Experience in using accountancy software packages
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office programs
  • Knowledge of managing donor funds
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Understanding of local context and language
  • Diligent and trustworthy person
  • Analytical skills

2. Position: Finance Officer

  • Location: Arbaminch Sub Coordination office with frequent travel to field sites in different regions of Ethiopia
  • Number Required: 1
  • Duration: 24 months with possibility of extension, based on funding availability
  • Salary: As per the scale of the organization and benefit package

Skill and Educational Background:

  • BA degree in Accounting and Finance or any other relevant field
  • Minimum of five years’ work experience in a similar field
  • Three years of NGO experience is a plus
  • Prior financial grants management experience
  • Skilled in team management and capacity building
  • Experience in using accountancy software packages
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills, including time management and prioritization
  • Excellent command of English and reporting skills
  • Understanding of local context and language
  • Good computer skills
  • Diligent and trustworthy person
  • Analytical skills
