Position: Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will assist the Finance Department Manager and Accounts Division Head with financial recording and reporting processes, including transaction posting and financial report creation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Certify that valid invoices and full supporting documents are obtained for every payment.
  • Check the arithmetic accuracy of figures and validity for all payments and receipts.
  • Prepare cash payments, bank payments, journal vouchers, and cash receipts on a timely basis.
  • Manage cash transfer letters to the authorized person or company properly.
  • Prepare the daily cash balance and report to the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain a register book for cash receipts, payment vouchers, withholding tax receipts, and other related documents.
  • Ensure proper custody of signed cheques, withholding tax receipts, cash receipt vouchers, bank, and cash payment vouchers.
  • Prepare a daily payment register for all payments.
  • Timely collection of bank debit and credit advice.
  • Execute timely processing, posting, and reporting of financial transactions (including those related to payroll, taxes, and fixed assets).
  • Ensure proper filing, storage, and safeguarding of all financial and accounting documents related to transactions, including financial reports, forms, and related supporting documents, and make them ready for audit purposes.
  • Prepare timely tax reporting and payment of VAT, withholding, employment tax, and pension contributions.
  • Ensure the timely settlement of all staff advances and liabilities.
  • Maintain a Fixed Assets Register.
  • Enhance technical knowledge by staying up-to-date with financial regulations and accepted practices, and participating in various developmental opportunities.
  • Work on other assignments and special projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  • Prepare salary payment information, calculate overtime payments, and other authorized and legal payments. Provide pay slips to employees and explain details of payments whenever requested by workers.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, especially in the manufacturing sector.
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge of Peachtree Accounting software is mandatory.
  • Very strong numerical and accounting skills.
  • Team player.
  • Independent work initiative and flexibility.
