Role Overview:
The Accounting Expert will support local accounting activities, ensuring compliance with statutory financial reporting requirements and regulations. This position involves working closely with various departments and external bodies to maintain and enhance accounting functions and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Tax & Statutory Compliance:
- Perform accounting functions and support statutory audits.
- Govern regional accounting standards and requirements, including indirect taxes and corporate income taxes.
- Ensure technical quality and support of accounting functions.
- Business Support:
- Provide business support regarding accounting and handle ad hoc requests.
- Process accounting activities and related tasks.
- Enhance compliance of tax processes and support statutory and tax audits.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Prepare and coordinate statutory postings and financials.
- Continuously monitor and propose improvements for process consistency, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Support compliance with internal controls and other control requirements.
- Risk Management:
- Identify, evaluate, report, and manage risks.
- Support manual payments, clearing processes, and treasury tasks.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Qualifications:
- Certified Accountant with a university degree in business administration focused on accounting.
- 2-5 years of experience in finance and accounting within a company or audit firm.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Excel.
- Language Skills:
- Fluency in English and Amharic is required.
- Personal Attributes:
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to work, capable of handling pressure and prioritizing tasks.
