Position: Internship
Eligibility Requirements:
- Actively enrolled in at least the final year of a Bachelor’s degree program OR must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree or an advanced/post-graduate (Masters) qualification in a related academic field.
- Prior work experience is not required for the internship positions.
Other Requirements:
- Nationals of a Member State of the African Union.
- Full-time students currently enrolled in the final year of their Bachelor’s or graduate school program.
- Fluent in at least one of the African Union working languages (Arabic, English, French, or Portuguese).
- Not more than thirty-two (32) years of age at the time of selection.
- Possess the highest standard of moral conduct and integrity.
- Have not been convicted of any serious criminal offense excluding minor traffic offenses.
Description:
The African Union Internship Program offers an opportunity for interns to enhance their educational experience and develop professional skills through full-time engagement with the AU. This program is open to qualified individuals from diverse academic backgrounds who have a keen interest in the work of the AU and can interact effectively with individuals from various cultural backgrounds.
Terms and Conditions:
- The AU will not have financial obligations towards interns.
- Interns are responsible for their travel arrangements, accommodation, and living expenses.
- AU will assist interns in obtaining entry and residence visas.
- Interns will not receive compensation for travel.
- The internship is authorized for three (3) months, renewable once.
- Interns must have individual insurance coverage throughout the duration of the internship.
Skill and Educational Background:
- Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Proficiency with email and internet applications.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Proficiency in one of the AU official working languages (French, English, Portuguese, Arabic, Spanish, Kiswahili), with fluency in another AU language(s) considered an advantage.
