Liyana Health Care Plc is seeking qualified and compassionate individuals to join our team in the following position:

Position: Midwifery

Location: Addis Ababa

Salary: Negotiable

Job Summary:

The Midwife is responsible for providing comprehensive care to women during all stages of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum, as well as ensuring the well-being of newborns. This role involves identifying high-risk pregnancies, delivering babies, and offering follow-up care to patients after labor. The Midwife collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care for patients and advocates for holistic, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care and counseling to women throughout the prenatal, pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum periods.
• Perform physical examinations and monitor the health of both mother and baby during pregnancy.
• Assist women during labor and childbirth, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques.
• Monitor and assess the condition of newborns immediately after birth.
• Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and diagnostic tests as necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.
• Educate and counsel patients about reproductive health, childbirth, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
• Maintain accurate records of patient medical histories, procedures, and interactions.
• Advocate for holistic, patient-centered care and contribute to reducing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.

Skill and Educational Background:

• BSc degree in Midwifery from a recognized University.
• Professional licensing certificate required.
• Work Experience:
• 0 – 1 year: Required number – 3
• 3 years: Required number – 3
• Personal Qualities:
• Attention to detail to observe potential health risks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Passion for infant care.
• Good communication skills.
