Menschen fuer Menschen Foundation is seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to fill the position of Water Engineer. The successful candidate will be based at our Program Coordination Office in Addis Ababa. This is a yearly renewable contract with a negotiable salary.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, write proposals, and evaluate all water programs, projects, and activities.
- Assess study and detail design documents for water source investments.
- Participate in the study and design work for various water projects.
- Revise design documents, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and project costs.
- Prepare contract documents, specifications, and agreements.
- Ensure the coordination and timely execution of water-related initiatives.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency in spoken and written English.
Qualifications:
- MSc or BSc in Water Engineering, Hydraulics, Irrigation, or Water Resource Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience for BSc holders and 6 years for MSc holders, with a proven track record in design, construction supervision, and contract administration.
- Additional experience in project proposal writing, preparing concept notes, project coordination, and report writing is desirable.
