Meklit Micro Finance Institution is inviting qualified and competent applicants to apply for the following vacant positions:

1. Risk Management and Compliance Officer

  • Location: Head office, Addis Ababa
  • Number Required: 1
  • Salary: As per the company scale
  • Terms of Employment: Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a risk management plan to identify, measure, control, and monitor risks for the microfinance company.
  • Develop appropriate risk identification techniques.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify, measure, and rank risks.
  • Prepare and present reports on operational risk, liquidity risk, and interest rate risk.
  • Forward recommendations with appropriate action plans to control or mitigate observed risks.
  • Follow up and present reports on how risk monitoring tasks are performed.

Skill and Educational Background:

  • BA degree in accounting, accounting & finance, management, or related fields of study.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in any financial company or related organization.
  • Technical skills required: Demonstrated technical ability, teamwork, gender equality, basic computer skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.

2. Branch Internal Audit

  • Location: Butajira and Addis Ababa
  • Number Required: 2
  • Salary: As per the company scale
  • Terms of Employment: Permanent

Skill and Educational Background:

  • BA Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Banking and Finance, or equivalent combination of education.
  • 2 years of experience in internal auditing.
  • Familiarity with MFI industry’s rules and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Technical skills required: Good planning, experience in internal auditing, demonstrated leadership ability, organizational skills, computer application skills, and problem-solving skills.
