Eligibility Criteria:
- Completed a Bachelor’s degree.
- Not holding a graduate or Ph.D. degree.
- Age 35 or younger.
- Citizen or refugee of a Sub-Saharan African country.
- Faced financial challenges.
- Demonstrated academic excellence.
- Leadership qualities or potential.
- Interest in and commitment to community service.
- Requires a Canadian study permit.
- Has not claimed asylum or protected person status in Canada.
- Commits to returning to Africa to benefit others.

- Take an English Proficiency Exam if required.
Scholars Program Application Package (Due by Dec 1, 2023):
- Complete the Scholars Program Application.
- Submit Personal Statements, CV, reference letters, and transcripts.
- Provide financial need and commitment to community details.
- Submit the package via email to mcfsp.admissions@ubc.ca.

- Review faculty application instructions.
- Check fee waiver eligibility.
Reviewing Process (Feb-Apr 2024):
- Faculties nominate candidates.
- University-wide committee reviews and selects recipients.
- Shortlisted candidates undergo video interviews.
- Award recipients announced in April 2024.
